To All Command Bus Passengers:

For the past few years, you have been reading and hearing the numerous stories about the imminent transfer of Command Bus Company’s mass transit operations into the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (“MTA”).  The months of speculation have come to an end, as negotiations between Command and the City of New York are now complete.  An agreement between the two parties was signed Tuesday evening, November 29, 2005, which will result in the MTA beginning to provide service on Command’s express and local bus routes beginning Monday, December 5, 2005.  As a result of this agreement, Command will become the fourth New York City private bus operator to become part of the new MTA Bus Company since the transition process began in January 2005.  We are certain that the MTA Bus will continue to provide the high quality of bus service and maintain the required level of attention and support of Command’s operation to satisfy your demands and expectations.

Twenty-six years ago on October 22, 1979, Command Bus was created to provide express and local bus service for the residents of Brooklyn previously serviced by Pioneer Bus Company.  Starting with fifty buses carrying 4,000 passengers daily, Command has matured and developed into a company of over 250 employees serving 10,000 passengers daily with over 130 buses.  We are very proud of our accomplishments and the role we played in bringing public transit bus operations to areas of Brooklyn not previously serviced by either surface or rail routes.  As the population and economic development of Brooklyn grew, requiring additional transportation, Command played an integral role in assuring that safe, reliable and accessible bus service would meet the public’s demand.

With the number of days of our service drawing to a close, I would like to take this opportunity to extend our thanks to you our passengers, individually and collectively, for your allegiance to Command over the past quarter century.  You remained loyal and committed to Command’s service as we faced the arduous effects associated with bus operations in New York – the world’s busiest city.  Your support provided our entire staff with the inspiration to make Command one of the leading bus operations in the metropolitan area.  We are truly grateful.

We also want to express our best wishes to the MTA Bus Company and its President, Tom Savage, on the transfer of this operation into its growing bus system.  We are all certain that the MTA will continue to maintain the high standards of customer service while they develop new means of improving the system that they will manage.

On behalf of our President, Jerry Cooper, our Board of Directors and all the employees of the Transit Alliance Companies, I want to thank you for your patronage and support and wish you a future of health, happiness and continued success.

                                                                        Very truly yours,

                                                                        Stan Brettschneider

                                                                        Vice President
